This seems complicated, but doesn’t need to be so CPD Australia have made it easy by breaking it up into small sections for you:
1) Annual Professional Development Plan: this is to direct lifelong learning, help identify knowledge gaps and learning opportunities. Remember time spent doing – and reviewing – a PDP counts towards the 50 CPD hours required each year. We track this for you.
2) Registration Requirements: 50 hours overall, split across three types of activities. 12.5h of Educational Activities, 25h of Reviewing Performance and Measuring Outcomes, with a minimum of 5h for each of these, and the remaining 12.5h split anyway you like.
3) Program Level Requirements: every doctor needs to do at least one activity (minimum 30 minutes duration) that has a focus on Culturally Safe Practice, Addressing Health Inequities; Professionalism and Ethical Practice. We make recording this is as easy as a checkbox.
4) If you are a specialist, there may be ‘Specialist High Level Requirements’ specific to your college. We organise this for you, and prompt you on how you can get this done easily and quickly, all through the platform.
